Download
http://aibohack.com/psp/psardump01.zip
[binaries for 1.00 and 1.50 firmware, source code, README.TXT]

You will need a homebrew compatible PSP (1.0 or 1.50 firmware)

Extract from the README.TXT (read the entire README.TXT for instructions)

PSAR Dumper .01

A tool to help legal reverse engineering of the PSP system components.
Extracts the contents of the update data file, and saves them as
separate files on memory stick.
When it can, it will also automatically decrypt the .PRX files
(like the PSPSDK PRXDecrypter tool)

Advanced expert tool.
NOTE: if you have never disassembled an ELF file before,
you probably shouldn't be using this tool.

Legal Note:
The files you download (ie. the updater EBOOT.PBP) and the files
extracted by this tool (ie. the contents of the OUT and OUTX folders)
are all Sony copyrighted material !!

You can use them under certain "fair uses".
Do not post these files on the Internet.

Use this tool at your own risk!

The tool itself contains no Sony copyrighted material.

Quote:

Tested and works for the following PSP Firmware updates:
Old 1.00 "BOGUS" update
1.50 update
1.51 update
1.52 update
2.00 update **

NOTE: for the 2.00 update, the ~PSP encryption is different. The OUTX folder will be empty.

-----

Possible suggested uses:
* Examining the differences in the 1.51 and 1.52 binaries, for general education or to find an exploit.
* Trying some PSAR cut-and-paste tricks for the 1.5x versions
* General understanding of the PSAR format

* Examining the new PRX encryption for the 2.0
* Examining the encryption of the new "IPL" update file

Be careful to stay within the legal "fair uses". This tool is taking Sony copyrighted material that you download from Sony websites and converting the format. It remains Sony copyrighted material.

PspPet=AiboPet?

Wow, Aibo ERS-111 owner here - still fondly remembering the good old days, especially faxing Sony along with many others when your site was taken down.

Great to see you contributing to PSP homebrew :)
