Hello..Everyone...
I thought some people would like to encode their PMP_MOD_AVC movies on the Macintosh.
And I make a small program "PEnGUIn ToolKit".
It can encode H264, AVI, MP3 for compatible with PMP_MUXER and PMP_DEMUXER.
In fact, PEnGUIn is a frontend for mencoder (with x264 pacthed, thanks of Jonny's efforts!!).
So you have to download mencoder binaries seperately.

(12.29.2006 Updated)
I list the download's link following:
DOWNLOAD: PEnGUIn_ToolKit_1.32u.zip
DOWNLOAD: Mencoder, Mplayer, X264 & LAME Bianries for Intel Only (11.18.2006 Build)
DOWNLOAD: Mencoder, Mplayer, X264 & LAME Bianries for PPC Only (11.17.2006 Build)

And I set a blog for introducing the software.

Wish it works, and some people would love it. Thanks!!

Hello..Jonny...
It's nice to hear from you.
I used XCode with camelbones to compile perl modules.
Camelbones is a Cocoa-Perl Bridge, it let perl which is able to use Cocoa elements.
The more details you can find in Camelbones website.

Hello..Cambur...
I am so sorry that the last mencoder was not static version.
But my gcc compiler seems not to be compatiable with the latest XCode 2.4.
I am reinstall my tiger and reinstall xcode.
I will release the new version mencoder binaries these days.
Suggest you can use PEnGUIn 1.0 with previous mencoder temporarily.
Sorry for any of inconvenient.

Hello..Cambur....
Did you mean out-of-sync in Audio/Video?
I guess the latest version 1.16a solving the problem.
Thanks!

Suggestion:

When recoding DVD VOB's, it would be nice to to have a merge function that merges the separate VOB's together to create a single PMP file, eventually.

Hello..oOPriMuSOo....
A powerful utility "MPEG Streamclip" can handle the process.
Just open one of vob files in VIDEO_TS.
For example "VTS_01_1.VOB"
And select open all files in the conversion window.
Set input point for pressing "i" key.
Set output point for pressing "o" key.
File -> select "Save as..."
You will got a file which you want.
Thanks!

hey, since upgrading to 1.4, the pmp muxer does not work. I'm not sure if it doesn't work with both avc and avi files, but for sure it does not work with the avc files.

here is what the pmp log file reads:

/Users/Dan/Desktop/Work/downloads/apocalypto/movie.cd1.264:
Processing video ...
width: 480
height: 272
scale: 1000
rate: 25000

Status: [dwTotalFrames == 0]

and that's where it ends. no muxing actually occurs. does anybody have any idea what it isn't working?

Hello..
Did you use the default value or change -crf lower 21 or over 24?
By the way, what's the mac you use ? PPC or Mactel?
What's the video source you encoded? avi, mp4, rm or mov?
It looks like that the xxx.264 is not correct and compatible to muxer.
Please provide more information that I can figure out what's wrong with the error.
Thanks.
