Maybe it came from the Loco Roco demo that ran on 2.7fw.
I don't know the specifics of how it hides the icons so I can't tell you how. |

The __SCE__ trick for hiding corrupt icons has been around for a lot longer than loco roco ;)
I'd guess it was likely found through reverse engineering the VSH, but I dunno for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if sony's rootkit debacle gave whoever found it the idea to look for that string, as sony seems to have a habit about things. _________________ Shoot Pixels Not People!

| mph wins again i guess.. its a lot easier than putting 25 spaces and a 1, but i have sei doing that automatically for me so it doesnt really matter |
