i tried upgrading the irxs of ps2mp3 to the latest i can find but i get some problems. it works from ps2link but don't from dev.1 mode.
it simply stay always with the hd led on and it freeze. the only strange thing i see from ps2link is this: (i get this also with the old irx that work from dev1)

then i restored all ps2 hd related irx (dev9 hdd pfs) and it worked fine but i get the same strange error from ps2link. i think it's a mine problem but what can cause these thing?

i also tried an irx after another and at the moment i find one or the only doing this problem is ps2dev9 (the problem of the impossibility of loading from dev.1), ps2hdd don't do the problem, ps2fs also any problem and ps2atad also (found in ps2sdk 1.1) ps2atad also by crazyc don't do any problem. but only ps2dev9 make this freeze what can be this?

the strange thing is that i get the same thing with all hd programs. with ps2link i see this thing in other case i see slowdown of the boot process. can be that i have only 2 gb left?
also with ps2os samething and the ps2mp3 is with all irx builtin
