Hi,
I've just read about RemoteJoy and wanted to try it out. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty and my PSP's firmware is 3.40 OE-A.
I followed these instructions and everything seemed to be fine (I had to install a few things like libreadline5-dev and libusb-dev, I think). Then I ran PSPLink (in GAME340) on the PSP and usbhostfs_pc (with and without sudo and I did run mod.sh before), but my PSP won't show anything but

And no connection is established and PSPSH won't work either as it needs this connection.

which disappears if I turn off the PSP.

I have no idea why this doesn't work, so please help me! ^_^
I can't check if it works in Windows since it's not installed on any of my PCs, but I will try it on another system running Gentoo.

I think it should say "Connected to device" or something, but it doesn't.
I've tried it on my other PC with Gentoo now, but it doesn't work there either. I've done everything the same way, but it won't connect to the PSP. So I guess it's my fault, but I can't find the mistake. :/ |

| I don't know about the linux version but with windows you have to install the drivers. Another problem was key corruption on some psp using the older downgraders that cause a many problems for select psp users including usbhost not working. The solution for most was to download Chilly Willy's Keycleaner 1.1. I would check http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=56265 for more info on how to check if your psp is running fine. |

Thank you, HmongGuy! That was it! :D
I fixed my keys using the KeyCleaner and now it works! I didn't even know my PSP was a TA-082 (even though there were no letters in the top-right corner when I opened the UMD drive), but I thought I ordered it before TA-082 downgraders have appeared on the web (it was downgraded to 1.5 by the shop). Anyway, now it seems to be working, so thanks! |

| Just a message to thank HmongGuy, as I had the same problem and using the keycleaner solved it (I didn't even need a "clean" psp. I guess I still have one dirty key, but usbhostfs works !) |

| When you get a 1.5 PSP from the shop, these are often hard-downed. The original 2.71 soft-down software was patterned after these hard-downed PSPs. As such, hard-downed PSPs are usually as screwed up as the original soft-downed. These hard-downed PSPs can usually be "fixed" by KeyCleaner just like the soft-downed ones. So if you have a PSP you bought from a shop that advertised it as 1.5, you probably ought to at least check it with KeyCleaner to see if it was hard-downed using the old method. |
