This should be an easy one....
Is there an easy way for me to play GTA, which upgrades the PSP to fw 2.0, on my v1.5 PSP? I've heard there are programs that just trick GTA into thinking the FW version is 2.0.
EDIT: I know I can just "play it", but my intention is for GTA to _not_ upgrade my 1.5 psp. |

You can use a program called Devhook to emulate one of the latest firmwares.
Or the best option is to upgrade your 1.5 to Dark Alex's 3.03 OE-A (then upgrade to OE-B). This provides all the abilities of 1.5 with the added bonus of running the 3.03 firmware so almost all current games will run fine.

i'd rather not use anything that touches the flash... devhook is fine =)

Actually its 99% safe. I was sceptical at first myself, but if you use 3.03 OE youll never want to go back :)
I reccomend it to anyone, and do so to everyone I help on IRC.
