Hi guys,

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried wiring a PS3 up through a linux-based router and using something like tcpdump to see what's going on. For example, is the PS3 network and store interface run over HTTP (if so, what are the URLs?) or always HTTPS or a custom protocol?

Roll on March...

Cheers,
Ix

I would like to know this aswell (don't have a PS3). I tried a few PS3-only websites with changing my user agent to the same as the PS3 browser and they worked.

Maybe it would work with the store also.

Yep, I found a few interesting sites by setting my user-agent to:
Mozilla/5.0 (PLAYSTATION 3; 1.00)

http://ps3.us.playstation.com/
http://psn.jp.playstation.com/

Nothing very exciting though...

Any updates on this? Has anyone managed to find out the URL?

I was able to find and download the videos and demos from the playstation store onto my pc. The videos are just MP4's and the demos have a .pkg extension and appear to be compressed and possibly encrypted.

Example:
Code:
https://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/UP9000/NPEA90003_00/bXyUXXXcp4mgm3TmYIilGj1SsF6kFaXs5Qgl1CE4t4Lt0ebicmfkY58PktufM8ic1HTLLjgk3JwmR9En0UWTeDvD9hjW5wApIBtuF.pkg?product=0084&country=us

The user agent when downloading the files appears to be

Code:
Sony-HTTPClient/1.0 [PS3 test]

Dark Killer - any chance at all of a download link for the GT HD demo? I'd be willing to wager that a lot of game developers using PS3 dev kits would be silently thanking you ;)

The URL for GT HD appears to be:

Well I put the GT:HD demo on a memory stick under a PS3/GAME directory and it didn't show up under the "Game data" menu icon.

Try putting in PS3 folder instead of GAME sub-folder.

Nope. Doesn't work there either.

Still haven't figured out how to install pkg files from the memory stick but you can download the demos/access the store without upgrading to the latest firmware; the ps3 goes somewhere to check what the requirement is for the store then decides whether to give you access or not. You can spoof this place yourself to make the firmware requirement 0.00.

You can also download the files above to your PC then spoof the ps3 into thinking your PC is actually the store then you can "download" and the pkg will install as normal.

You can use PS3.ProxyServer Installer to download demo on your PC then transfer to PS3 with this hack. Just go to www.PS3News.com and follow the guide carefully.

Hey all, just wondering if it was possible to find the URL for the current background image on the Japan Playstation Store.
It shows up right after launching the JPN PSN Store.
I tried by proxy, sniffing, but wasn't able to as those packets aren't logged at all :/
It looks like this http://videoff7.free.fr/midgar.jpg
I'm just looking for the background image URL.
Thanks for any help ^^
