Can anyone give a short explanation/tutorial on how inject code into a save game file? Sorry for the noobish question.

Google for GTA Exploit Source.

idk why you want to do this, sony already patch the save game exploit after 3.5X, so its useless.

For a quicker look, search on psp-hacks.com download page for Development.

Yeah, names are being named, throats are being cut, knees are being capped.
It's a jungle out there in the world of console gaming.

It depends on what you have exploited. In the recent savegame exploit, the value of $ra can be changed. The binary code in the savegame is always loaded to a specific address. So you change the value of $ra to return to that address.

Well then its a good thing i'm looking into the GripShift Exploit and NOT GTA.... *rolls eyes*

I want to know how it's done without an SDK to find my own as well.

Sigh, please keep it down children.

Developing exploits is generally not _that_ hard, finding them isn't necessarily easy. Although fuzzing every save game you can find is a good start, AFAIR the lumines one was found by giving the game a save game containing totally random data :)

However I would like to point out this forum is not really about exploiting the PSP (and arguably never was) so there are probably better places to take this discussion, not that anyone else is likely to answer you sensibily :)

Ok, sorry to bounce back on the subject, but is there a possibility to use PSPLink in the XMB ?
Or rather, is there a possibility to get useful "state of the RAM" information from the XMB ?

@Ooblik, you might want read this :

Of course it is possible to use in vsh mode (XMB is only the interface :P), works just as it ever has. Just run the loadvsh.sh script in pspsh. Of course some people seem to have issues but they have probably some weird plugins loaded or something :)
