| I've never developed anything and i want to learn....i went to the tutorials on PSP-Programming to learn.....it says the toolchain script takes a couple hours to run......does this need to be done each and every time you begin developing, and does it take that long each time......also if someone could give me links to the latest CYGWIN and toolchain that would be great, and any other information that i should know before i begin would also be appreciated |

Of course you don't need to rebuild the full toolchain avery time you start a dev session... ;)
Anyway, if you're new to c/c++ dev, please don't start with PSP development, it could really be a pain in the ass! :o
Get a C/C++ tutorial, cygwin and start to code something simple (the classic "Hello world!" app) then step through the tutorial to get in touch with programming language, alghorithms, control structures and so on...
Starting from scratch with PSP development it's like getting a Yamaha R1 with a fresh license: could hurt yourself very much! ;)
There's also another way: try LUA! LUA is a scripting language (sort of simplified programming lang) which runs on the PSP within the LUA player. Many developers made nice homebrews with it, definitely deserves a look!
Refer to the LUA subforum here @PS2dev: http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewforum.php?f=21
Have phun!
