How do you know what version you have? Are there
actually release versions?

Also, I notice that there is now a SDK for GP32x. Any other
ports? I think the Motorola V3 would be a good candidate.
It has an ATI chip for 3D, unsigned downgradeable bootloader.
A nice ARM7 chip. Easy flashed without hardware modifications
via USB cable.

Ugh...

SDK stands for Software Development Kit... The PSPSDK and the SDk for GP32x have absolutely nothing to do with each other (except I think ooPo wrote scripts for building both, since he has both...)

...

I've said before that I think PSPSDK needs to be much more aggressively versioned, and released should be done more often...

...as it is, PSPSDK is setup for doing occasional releases, but it doesn't seem to happen. What "version" you have is mostly limited to knowing when it was checked out and compiled from SVN -- which would be the day you ran the toolchains script. PSPSDK is pretty active, so if it hasn't been built in the last 3-4 weeks you'd probably be ahead to update.
