At this site they talk about how they downgraded their 1.50 psp to 1.0. Has anybody tried this method and does it work?
Thanks

| It just looks like they are comparing 1.00 and 1.50 of the firmware, I don't think they have downgraded it... |

| Oh brilliant. And then Engadget took to reporting it at face value. The amount of misinformation out on 'official' channels is hilarious. My roommate was violently insisting that pirates had made it possible to play pirated UMDs from memorystick a few nights ago. That stemmed from an article that was really supposed to be about a tool dumping UMDs to memorystick. |

The above poster is right, the page does nothing with flashing the firmware.
What the authors has done, per translation, is used the latest swap "exploit" to load the dumping program onto a 1.5.
This allowed him to dump the 1.5 firmware as it is written to the PSP.
(before all we could do was analyize the eboot.pbp files Sony released)
Now, we can finally compare the 1.0's firmware as written to the 1.5 firmware as written.
According to the page, the author found 2 major difference of concern to him.
One being the /vsh/etc/version.txt, but that's obvious.
The other is the fact that v1.0 has a file that v1.5 doesn't, and vice versa:
Only in 1.50 /flash0/kd: resource
Only in 1.00 /flash0/kd: sysmem_uart4.prx
That's it, nothing more to it. Hooray for google translations, where lines like "The kana where here becomes the just a little air -." = NEWZ |
