If works with 0.0.5 and doesn't work with my first mod, it could be the resolution, that should be at least:
(width mod 8) = 0 and (height mod 4) = 0

about mp4, i've done a fast shot encoding with PSPEnc ( http://jonny.leffe.dnsalias.com ) and seems to work (?)

keep up the great work i have eagerly been following this since v0.5
and it gets much better with each release.

XviD 1.1.0b2
for 16:9 i use: 352x192
and 4:3: 320x240
using XviD at a target bitrate of 320k Quantizer capped at 5
and using an audio bitrate of CBR MP3 96k 44hz.

this has awesome playback performance for PSP 0.6 has almost eliminated all image tearing, but it's unstable for now, crashes at diffrent points each time could be 44minutes into the film or it could be 3minutes i have had the same problem with every release, the max file i have opened is a 210mb 1h09m clip.

I noticed the same problem. I tried the program with asf mp4 mpg avi mpeg, and each movie froze randomly. The same movie would crash at different parts when played over.

I tried pmp 0.6 with this sample clip and got some problems with the playbackspeed and also with the audio

To JiniCho, did you ever thinking of adding aacPLus V2 codec to your PMP.
This can save alot of disc space

Great work, soon we can watch movies in the only acceptable resolution.

I've some troubles encoding videos that work thought.
I Use 3GP_Converter 0.32 (FFMPEG) with various settings (all 480*272) but none works.
It hangs after about 4 minutes while playing files, and for some it hangs while loading (almost all avi files).
I tried xvid/mpeg4/h264 video codec and mp3/aac with all variations in both mp4 and avi format.
I tried -b 768 and -qscale 4, no difference.
The sound is offsync, but that is expected in such a early release.

Does anyone know how to create the best working file, that does not hang or delays the sound so much?

I already ported mplayer to PSP, but it wasn't so easy.
And the performance is not good as PMP.
I merged jonny's me_idct to it but the video is broken. I got only green screen. Current idct can only play 15fps(480x272) mpeg4 video at 333MHz clock which is not good enough to be called as 'MPlayer fo PSP'.

the clock speed is fixed on 333MHz when playing video files.

I have looked a bit on the source code, but I must confess. This is way above my programming skills.
One thing I did see, there are pretty much code there to handle resize etc.
Is it possible to create a stripped version that handle only 480*272 resolution. You could skip a resize and at least (mayby) a copy from "drawing" buffer to screen memory space.
Also, it could be stripped to only handle 48000 sound streams and 30fps video, that would make it easier to sync between video and sound.

To me honest, the builtin VideoPlayer is OK, but it Lacks in native resolution, and I think anyone will reencode movies before putting them on the memorystick to save space and gain quality.

digihoe: streaming is not ported. And I can't test wifi code right now because I'm under the proxy environment which is requiring id & passwd when i try to connect to the internet.

this edition is more steady than previous, that is very nice. but play mpg files, audio isn't synchronize, the example file at http://rapidshare.de/files/8271851/up-h.mpg.html
