Hi I just started development on linux, and I was wondering what would be the best compiler and text editor to use in ubuntu, to develop for the psp.

You have to compile a set for the PSP toolchain though :)

When using Ubuntu, the latest and best tutorial on setting up the PSP toolchain is here:

http://www.guztech.nl/tutorials/38-psp/49-setting-up-the-psptoolchain

I use Geany as my editor in Ubuntu. It's in the Ubuntu repos - just install it with Synaptic. You might try that out. It's pretty nice.
