Thanks for your quick reply. I will create new folders in those directories.

Now it can find the file but when I play it there is a message saying:

"No video detected, width = 640, height = 272
Press square button to stop"

I can hear the sound of the movie just fine. So there is sound but no video.

Yeah, Im afraid you cant do anything about that except encoding the avi file (youre trying to play an avi/divx file I guess) and thats time/cpu consuming :(

What format is the video you try to play? How was it encoded and with what encoder?
You know that PMPVLC only plays proper .PMP files from your memory stick? It only plays .avi or other video formats by streaming them from your windows pc through a server software.

You might want to try out cooleyes PPA application, which supports more video formats and is more up to date afaik. It doesn't support the VLC streaming aspect though.

Well you cant get cooleyes since 'cooleyes' is actually a nickname of the player software creator :D

However, typing cooleyes PPA player into google might give you some useful results, try that out... ;-)
