I'm pretty sure some of you remember this hack: http://www.psp-vault.com/Article63.psp. With it, you can use non-duo memory sticks in your PSP.
But... notice how it works, you enter a "card" in it and you plug a wire to the adaptor. I've never used that hack, but I guess that the PSP thinks that there is always a stick in the PSP, there must be a switch that is turned on/off when you enter a stick in it or get it out.. (If not, then it must be an electric connection on the memory stick, but you just have to short the right wires and it should do the trick).
So... if the PSP thinks that there is always a stick in, you could put the empty eboot.pbp on the stick (connected through the adaptor), let the PSP detect that there is a game there. Without pressing X to run the eboot.pbp, you switch your memory sticks, or replace the old eboot.pbp using a memory stick reader, then plug it back and run the game.
Ok, this is all speculations, I don't know how the stick slot works, but I guess it's worth a try if someone has that adaptor.
Also, you could use such an adaptor to create a dual memory stick reader for the PSP. You plug 2 memory stick in it, then you plug it into the PSP, and you use a switch to toggle between the sticks, that way you get a safer swap.
Could anyone that has a dead PSP/ opened there PSP confirm how the slot works? Switch detection or electrical detection of the memory stick?
Do you think the adaptor "switch before running the launcher" "hack" would work?
I don't have 2 sticks nor do I have a stick reader, nor do I have the adaptor (lol :P) so I can't test this, but I'll try to get one of the adaptor, it looks like it could be used in alot of ways... |

| since the time you have to swap is still constrained, this will not help you. |

Won't work, the error checking is the flaw that makes this exploit possible. The psp knows that the card is out, and retrys to access the data until it times out. Because it already verified the first file it seems to skip the security check the second time around because it detects an elf header at 0 in the file and simply executes it. |
