Hi there,

In order to access my server while traveling, I consider buying a psp and connect it with my cell phone to access internet. The facility of listening to music wouldn't be bad, too.

However I do not own one and therefore I have no experience at (in?) this kind of experiments. Maybe some of you could give me some hints or correct me, if my idea is just stupid?

The first uncomfortable way would be to link both devices with IrDA. Although this ain't be fast this method is working kinda well with my notebook.

The second way I thought of is a link via RS232, maybe some kind of software which emulates a real COM.

Whaddaya think about it?

Sounds like a lot of work to do yourself since existing PSP software just assumes
you are near a wireless router, and little if any other means to connect to the
internet has been written yet.

If there is software for your phone to make it do most of the work,
and just send certain information to the PSP via irda or serial maybe easier.

Depending on your type of phone you may be able to connect via usb, although i dont think psp has drivers to handle this.
