Can someone post the pre-IPL that was dumped? I can't find it anywhere. Was only the old Phat dumped or are there more different dumps? I tried running the sample code but I have a slim and it doesn't seem to work in TM.

You will need to use msinst.exe to install the ipl onto the psp. Then switch to pandora battery.

I was referring to moonlights original sample to dump pre-IPL. I didn't know about booster's one.

I don't even remember my dumper :)
But with booster sdk it shouldn't be too difficult, I don't remember if booster sdk had write ms support, if it has, it is as simple as writing 1024 bytes from bfc00000.

Btw, the differences between the slim and fat pre-ipl are minimal, it is basically same thing, even all functions are at same addresses.

The one that copied it to upper memory which would not get allocated in 1.50 firmware. Then you can dump it by a simple kernel EBOOT.

Every reply of his is bullshit. He randomly PMed me and claimed that he has something called "scea-cryptor" that he was using, and all his homebrew worked on his OWF PSP, and that he got it because he paid 1000s of $$ for the devkit, without even realizing that devkits still produce unsigned code :P

Coming from you.. I have no idea xD, besides it makes sense what I am saying.. 95% of your information is wrong and it ends up making you look dumb in the end.

Im just offering advice that's all.

This is true, taken for example the msinst.exe post.

1. You do not need that file, there are other methods.
2. He didn't want the IPL, he wanted the pre-ipl, and he didn't want it installed on his memory stick, he wanted it dumped.

First half - Correct.

Second half - Where did he say that?

He just wanted the pre-IPL dumped, which is NOT the IPL, and he didn't want it INSTALLED, he wanted it dumped for purpose of examining it.

The pre-IPL isn't on your memstick, it's on some rom chip on the mobo or something.

This is the one I'm talking about:
http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=8850

I built the IPL and try to convert it to TM format but it doesnt work (I never really expected it to work while booting as TM patches must be hardcoded addresses anyway).

I'm yet to try booster's sdk.
