I extracted the 0.09 skins to SKIN folder. Exited and launched. Skin was set back to default. Can this be fixed? For now I just renamed Royale to Default...
Great application by the way...thanks |

Please post any bug/question/... to the FA++ forum, the answer is maybe there and it is easier for us to follow them (and not pollute this dev related forum)
http://tmpstore.free.fr/FileAssistant/
Thanks

sorry to bump this up but i had a question: why when i execute file assistant++ it creates a 0byte png called 71M in the root folder of the memory stick?
edit: i noticed it creates also a 0byte 71M.txt into the file assistant folder |

Hi Weltall,
The png file is used to extract PBP images to, bit lame writing it out to disc rather than memory, but that's the only space I could find at the time.
As for the txt file, well that's a log file that doesn't get written to in a release version, so it's pretty pointless as well.
They're both safe to delete and ignore as you like :)

Hey,
I really appreciate your work on the fileassistant. Now with all the GTA mass-upgrading I wanted to ask you if you could try to make a (very basic) version of the FA++ for all the 2.00 Users out there ? As you probably know, that would have to be user-mode only, no kernel to work with the EBOOT Loader 07.
Afaik one of the first versions (or the first version, i dont know...was something like .02 or so) seems to run on fw2.0, thats what I heard. So maybe you could use that version and update it as far as possible.
Bye and keep up the great work

Hi Cubeikon,
Somebody asked this just the other day on our forums! :)
So it seems it is definitely something that would make FA++ more accessible for the people.
I'll put it on my list of things to do after this weekends release.
Cheers,

Very odd!!! That's a SCE_KERNEL_ERROR_NODEV error!?!
Are you sure you have a PSP to run it on!!! :)
Seriously I'm not too sure why you're getting that error.
Maybe somebody else has come across that before?

yes i'm sure. i run a lot of homebrew apps on it. and as well my own. the previous versions work fine, just not this one. i tried to take apart the 1.0 version and create my own 1.5 one, and still same error. i've read on the forums online, and a lot of other people are getting errors too. and but they all seem to be different error messages. and some get it to work.
edit: after download the second version posted, at psp-hacks.com of it now seems to have worked. _________________ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't... |

Awesome!!! :D
It'll be interesting to see how much of FA++ functionality still works.
FTP, USB and PBP/BIN running are the only things that're disabled in code.

Nice to see an update, however it still causes problems on 1.0 PSP's. No way of exiting the program other than a hard shut-down, so annoying I can't use this great program and have to stick with the old dos looking FileAssistant.
In the latest version the home and reboot (select) buttons don't even respond, while in previous versions it would crash the program making you do a 15 second hard shut-down.
This aside, great job! Hope it can have improved 1.0 compatability if it's not too much trouble :) _________________ PSP: Japanese Firmware 1.0 :: 1gb SanDisk Memory Stick |

Interesting, nobody has reported these kind of problems before.
I'll take a look into why this should be happening on v1.0 PSPs only.

What is the deal with noobies that can't even use search? Seaching for "assistant" in the PSP Development forum yields several threads, two of which have "File Assistant++" in the thread title, and one of which is this thread. SHEESH! We're being flooded with noobies who can't even wipe their own rears! |

Hi Andrewwan1980,
Yes, this is the same project as FA but as the name suggests it is a more advanced version of Linjrs original product.
Unfortunately this project has been closed for well over a year now but the source code should still be available from sites like PSP-DCEmu and PSPUpdates if you feel like make changes?
Cheers,

Hey! It's you 71M! I keep on noticing a new file called 71M.txt keeps on being created and I keep on deleting it.
Anyway, can you tell me any other alternatives/better File Managers, that can view images and read text file.
Otherwise I'll really have to study the source of FA++ and improve it. Hope it's not too hard.... |

Hi,
Sorry I don't know of any other file management software.
Are you running the latest build of FA++? You should be able to view images and read .txt files fine with it.
Google FileAssistant-2006-03-20 or FileAssistant-2006-05-25 to get the latest builds (the latter being a test build for 2.0+ FW)
Cheers,
