So I've been watching the PS2/PSP dev scene for over two years, interested but never involved. After graduating last May and getting a job, I've finally gotten the money to get a PSP, as well as the time to start some dev work (I know, how do I have time once I -start- working? How the hell does that work?)
ANY way, I may not be a guru but I consider myself well versed in C/C++ and highly proficient in a number of other languages (at least I would hope so, considering the Comp. Sci. degree based around C++) and yet after nosing around for a few hours around here and the 'net, I can't find any good, reliable information as to where to start; I don't even know where to start when it comes to the platform specifics.
I have the PSP SDK for Windows, but examples are honestly too advanced for where I want to start; wrappers around APIs that I would honestly rather understand before I jump into coding; I could do a monkey-see monkey-do copy/past programming style, but we all know how foolish and flat out dangerous that can be... so I ask, where can I find a good reference for the PSP API? The SDK is pretty much a buncha wrappers from what I've seen, and as I said, I'd like to know what it's wrapping rather than the wrapper.
I've done a number of searches and as I said, starting points are beyond "Hello World" from what I am seeing. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the info? _________________ Not yet. |

Hi there,
First of all welcome to the PSP scene :)
Do you have Firmware 1.50 or some other custom firmware such as 3.40 OE etc?
if so then visit http://www.psp-programming.com/tutorials/ for a bit of advice.
Otherwise ask again :) |

First off, thank you for the reply; those tutorials are better than others I have seen in explaining the API.
Secondly, sorry it took so long for me to thank you ;)
Thirdly, I'm running 3.40 OE (upgraded from 3.10 OE-A' yesterday), and have finally gotten my 'Hello, World' running.
Thanks for the help and direction to resources,
